Welcome to the Chill Society<\/h2>

Hi, I'm James. I was brought up by the sea in South Devon and spent my summers almost entirely swimming around the Torbay coast.

I moved away to study graphic design. After a stint working advertising and PR jobs in London I decided I wasn\u2019t happy. It felt like stress and chasing imaginary goals and deadlines was becoming my entire life and I had no time to just... chill.

In 2017 I returned to the coastal community that raised me and began putting together a plan for a more balanced life. My work would be a means to an end and the end would be enjoying life. I can happily say now I live a much more positive life. I spend my free time in nature with my partner, Elle, walking our dog, swimming in the sea and being chill.

In 2021 I decided to set up the Chill Society as a way to use my skills in design to positively impact the environment and my local community.

The short story is a clothing brand with a positive impact on the environment: We make cool casualwear for the beach, woods and hanging out. All our products are 100% Organic Cotton, manufactured & printed in factories using only renewable energy.

We believe that while personal efforts to keep the environment are good, most of the waste in our oceans is commercial or industrial so we are committed to donating 50% of our profits to supporting ocean cleanup schemes on both a national and grassroots scale.

The slightly longer story is that we want to use the Chill Society to connect with our community to address stress, mental health and loneliness.

\"Chill Society\" isn't just a cool sounding set of words. We want to set up groups, hangs, beach parties & gigs. As well as supporting our society in living a more balanced, healthy and fulfilling life.
